Imagine just how many submissions an agent receives in a week. Now imagine that only six out of ten of them are properly formatted.

Like most agents I eagerly solicit nonfiction proposals. Why? Well, for me it's because I'm a huge reader of nonfiction books.

Since I started building my agency a few months ago, I have read a lot of submissions. Each time I open an envelope with sample pages I get excited. Who knows? The next thing I read may be my favorite manuscript of all time.

Submission Guidelines

We accept unsolicited queries and manuscripts in the categories outlined on the Services page.

For fiction send :

* A cover letter

* A brief synopsis (one or two pages)

* The first 30 pages of the work double-spaced on one side of the sheet only (do not bind or staple your work). Each page should have the title name and author name at the top. (Hint: When using Word click on View, then Header and Footer and insert your title and your name.) Also remember to print your name, address, contact number and email address on the cover of your manuscript.

* A large self-addressed stamped envelope if you want us to return your work, or a self-addressed stamped #10 envelope if you would like a letter in response. Please make sure that your return envelope is large enough to hold your complete manuscript. Please note: Do not send originals. Send copies of your work only. We are not responsible for misplaced or lost material.

For non-fiction proposals send a query letter first - or email your query using the "contact us" page on this website. If it is a project we want to consider, we will ask you to send the following:

* Author's bio (your expertise on this subject)

* Table of Contents

* Two sample chapters of the work double-spaced on one side of the sheet only (do not bind or staple your work). Each page should have the title name and author name at the top. Hint: When using Word click on View, then Header and Footer and insert your title and your name. Also remember to print your name and a contact number and email address on the cover of your manuscript.

* Competitive Analysis (how your book compares to other books on this subject)

* Promotion Plan (how you plan to promote the book. Do you have a "platform," i.e, are you a speaker, trainer, or expert on this subject?)

* A self-addressed stamped envelope if you want us to return your work, or a self-addressed stamped #10 envelope if you would like a letter in response. Please make sure that your return envelope is large enough to hold your complete manuscript. Please note: Do not send originals. Send copies of your work only.
