Include all of your contact information on the title page.2. Use 12 point Times New Roman font (or Courier New). 3. Set one inch margins top, bottom, right, left. 4. Double space between lines. (In Microsoft Word go to Format, then to Paragraph, then to Line Spacing. Click on Double, not 1.5). Do not insert additional space between paragraphs. 5. Create a header (in Microsoft Word go to View, then to Header and Footer). Type your title and your last name in the header on the left side of each page. Tab to the right side of the header and insert page numbers. 6. For fiction manuscripts, start a new chapter in the middle of the page. Indicate the beginning of a new chapter with chapter headings (Chapter 1, etc.) Put a hard page break at the end of each chapter, so the next chapter starts on a new page. (In Microsoft Word go to Insert, then Break, then Page Break.) 7. For nonfiction proposals, start each section on a new page with an appropriate heading (Overview, Author Bio, etc.)
